How to Update to the Latest Version
Download and install the latest version of Budget. This will replace your older Budget application with the new application. Be sure to keep your Budget document file(s) in a separate folder away from the application!
Installation Process
Budget on Windows requires the .NET framework to run; .NET is included on most modern computers. The Budget installer will check if .NET is installed and will direct you to download .NET if necessary. You can download the latest .NET framework for free from Microsoft at this page on Microsoft.com.
The initial file you get from our server is “BudgetWinSetup.exe”. It is a small file that makes sure you have the necessary installer technology, then downloads a file named “BudgetWinSetup.msi”. The “BudgetWinSetup.msi” file is the actual Budget installer.
Usually, you will simply want to run (or open) the “BudgetWinSetup.exe” file immediately to perform the install of the latest version of Budget. However, if you want to perform the install later or on a different machine, you can save the “BudgetWinSetup.exe” file to your hard drive.
Running the .exe file will start downloading the “BudgetWinSetup.msi” file which is the actual Budget installer.
